          Keeping the major intention of training tomorrow’s teachers in mind, Sri Adichuchanagiri Shikshana Trust (R) started Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Education in the year 1980 The institution is located in semi urban area which is about 37 Kms distances from Hassan town and connects Mandya, Mangalore, shimoga, Tumkurdistricts.

           Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Education has good infrastructure, class rooms, library with very useful books, journals,magazines and news papers, internet facilities catering to the various needs of the students and staffs. Science laboratories, computer laboratory with psychology lab,drinking water facility, hygienic toilet, spacious playground, vehicle parking,ladies common room,Xerox facilities,etc.

          Sri Adichunchanagiri college of education offers one year oftwo semesters bachelor of education (B ed Degree)  programme. The medium of instruction isbilingual i.e., both Kannada and English .specialization is offered in schoolsubjects that meet the requirements of teachers in various state Govt. And CBSEschool in and around country.

The supervision and guidance of paramapoojya jagadguruSri sri Sri Nirmalananda Mahaswamiji (present Swamiji) facilitate forstrengthening and the well organization of daily routine of the institution andthe institution takes all round development under the able guidance andmotivation of Dr. N   S  Ramegowda Vice Chancellor ,Karnataka  state Open university, Mysore(Former V. C.KSOU, Mysore) Chief Executive Officer of our Trust.

         The Environment helpsteacher Trainees to pursue their Education and Develop required teacher relatedcompetencies and attitudes and to have good professional growth for teachereducators.

        A pre-test isconducted in the beginning of the academic year to diagnose the contentcompetencies and teacher related aptitude of the Teacher Trainees. Based on thediagnosis, an Induction Programme and a Bridge Course are organized. There isalways a wider and consistent scope for intellectual and academic discussionamong the principal, teacher educators and teacher trainees formally as well asinformally, in addition to this,the principal and all teacher educators areeasily accessible and approachable for teacher Trainees to have discussion,counseling and Guidance to solve the academic and personal problems.

         Well planned academic co-curricular andextended activities like Guest lectures, personality development programmes,celebration of festivals? Special days, visits, interactions, GroupsDiscussions,etc., are organized periodically throughout the academic year. Inaddition to these, the college organizes variety or academic activities throughits different Clubs, such as Science club, language club and committees forco-curricular and extended activities. College also provides computer andinternet facilities to the staff and students

        There is always a very harmony and a cordial relationshipamong the principal, staff members and teacher trainees, which help forqualitative execution of all the academic activities. There is scope forself-analysis among all the working personnel during the staff meetings.

        Sri Adichunchanagiri college of education has selected Ruralas well as Urban secondary Schools for Practice teaching and teacher traineesare allotted to school for practice teaching by considering their convenienceand school requirement.

        Sri Adichunchanagiri college of education is permanentlyaffiliated to university of Mysore (UOM) from 1992-93. All the activities ofthe college are monitored by UOM. Government of Karnataka has admitted thecollege under grant-in-aid scheme from 01.04.1993. NCTE has given recognitionduring 1996. UGC gives its recognition to 13(b) under UGC Act 1956 from June2003.

        The performance of the teacher trainees is high since thebeginning of the institution. They got ranks, distinctions in the universityexams. They are working as headmasters, administrators, school teachers indepartment  of education and also inother departments.

        The college has existence of long 35 years in the pursuit ofteacher education preparing sound and efficient teachers to primary, high schooland higher secondary schools.
